YOUR RELOCATION FIELD GUIDE
Buying together: questions about title
Prepare the ownership conversation before signing, whether you are partners, friends or family.
Write down the ownership questions
Who will contribute to the down payment, monthly costs and repairs? How should ownership shares be recorded? What should happen if an owner wants to sell, stops paying or dies? These are planning questions; a relationship label does not answer them.
Ask the right professionals
Ask the title company and a qualified Nevada attorney to explain the available vesting options and how each interacts with your estate plans. Do not assume that a deed alone resolves inheritance, incapacity or every probate issue.
Keep financing and ownership aligned
Ask your lender how borrowers and title holders will be documented. Review the names, agreed ownership structure and closing documents with the appropriate professionals before signing. Request written explanations of unresolved questions.
